The Early Middle College Program Map provides information on EMC locations and programs throughout Michigan. This report allows users to search for locations and college affiliation, as well as view EMC coordinator contact information. Users can also see what districts have students attending EMC programs.
The report is updated annually. See the Recently Posted Reports page for when the report was last updated.
On the Locations tab, use the report filters to search or select a location in the dropdown. At the top of the dropdown is a search field. Enter a location name near the spyglass to narrow your search. The college affiliation filter can help when searching for locations by affiliation. Using the map zoom buttons +/- allows for searching by general area. Hovering over any of the markers in the map will display location and contact information. If you click on a marker, it will populate in the data table to the right with additional information. Use the Reset button to clear selections. If you need additional assistance, click on the info icon located near the map to list additional methods for using the report.
The report defaults to the most current year. Changing school years will allow you to see EMC locations in prior years. Please view the most current year’s data for accurate EMC contact information.
The Sending Districts tab allows users to discover what districts are sending their students to EMC programs. The download data link in the report settings area of the report will export all data.
Location options: Statewide, County, City, ISD, District, School and College Affiliation.

Early Middle College: An early middle college is a Michigan Department of Education-approved five-year program of study. EMCs work closely with postsecondary partners to provide students with an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and one or more of the following:
- 60 transferable college credits
- An associate degree
- A professional certification
- The Michigan Early Middle College Association technical certificate
- Participation in a registered apprenticeship
Early Middle College Consortia: An EMC consortia is comprised of multiple school districts with one coordinating agency.
Early Middle College Program: A high school program designed to serve less than 100% of the high school population.
Early Middle College School: A stand-alone public high school where 100% of the students are enrolled as EMC students.
Professional Certification: A certificate or industry-recognized credential for which a student prepares by taking coursework provided by a Michigan public or private college or university.
College Affiliation: College or university associated with an early middle college program.
The Center for Educational Performance and Information collects the majority of these data from public schools and intermediate school districts via the Michigan Student Data System.
