The Postsecondary State-Funded Student Aid Award Recipients report combines data from CEPI’s STARR and MSDS collections, MI Student Aid in MiLEAP*, and the National Student Clearinghouse to show the number of college enrollments statewide and the number and percentage of students receiving Michigan-funded awards. Data are broken down by recipient demographics and award type.
The report is updated yearly in the spring. See the Recently Posted Reports page for when the report was last updated.

Postsecondary enrollment data come from CEPI’s STARR collection and are supplemented with national data from the National Student Clearinghouse. NSC data do not include student demographics. If a student’s postsecondary enrollment record matches NSC data but not STARR, CEPI uses demographic information from high school graduation data reported in CEPI’s MSDS. If there is no STARR or MSDS demographics data for a student, the student is counted as “Unreported.” For more information on STARR or MSDS and reporting rules, please see the STARR Data Collection Manual and/or the MSDS Collection Details Manual.
